Lee Boyce, consumer affairs editor at This is Money, replies: The Beatrix Potter 50p coins caused quite a stir when they were announced by the Royal Mint at the start of the year.
In late March, a batch of Peter Rabbit coins entered circulation in the Lake District and a few other spots related to Beatrix Potter and they started appearing on online marketplace eBay for far more than 50p shortly afterwards.
First of all, let me tell you there are three different sets of five Beatrix Potter 50p coins.
One set is in everyday circulation and are made up of Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddle Duck, Mrs Tiggy Winkle, Squirrel Nutkin and a special 150th anniversary coin.
Four of the five have been released into circulation already, while the Squirrel Nutkin 50p is expected to be released at banks and shops across the country within the next week, according to experts at website Change Checker.
These can turn up in your change.
Another set are the 'brilliant uncirculated coins', with a full set costing 50 on the Royal Mint website.
Meanwhile, pandora jewelry promotions a third set are sold out these were a special edition of the coins which were coloured in. These coloured coins are selling for around 100 each online.
The Beatrix Potter coins mark the first time a fictional character has appeared on a British coin.

Yasmin Britton, of Change Checker, adds: 'There is no doubt that the Beatrix Potter 50p coins have caused much excitement across the UK and we can see why they're so popular.
'Collectors all over the country are checking their change right now in an attempt to find them.
'The more collectors hoard these coins, the less likely you are to find one in circulation some are selling online for 40 times their face value.
'The unique theme of this collection has been the key to its undeniable success.
'As the coins are so popular, we predict it won't be long until they completely disappear from circulation.'
